I’m sitting around looking through the web mostly at the weather outlook for an upcoming storm. We were supposed to get hit with the first “Noreaster” of the year and now it looks as though we are going to get a few inches and then rain. So I decided to look up some fun things to do during the snow, and well in my search I accidentally brought myself to my blog site. For a while now I’ve had this blog, and as you can see from my first post some time has passed since I’ve come back.
I was holding off because I wanted my first post to be of something important to me, and so I could reflect what direction I wanted to go with this blog. Sadly enough the only thing in the current news is Anna Nicole, and I think we’ve spent enough time trying to wrap our minds around that. A friend sent me an e-mail, so I have to thank N. for doing the beginning of my research. In the message with an article about a new release, it appears Sam Adam’s has released the glass that all beer connoisseurs have been awaiting for. Yes their ego has grown so large they believe they need their own style of glassware.
The glass features a cylindrical base, a bulbous shaft, and a neck, and lip design that should "helps sustain the head of the beer, which enhances the release of signature Noble hop aromas found in Samuel Adams Boston Lager," the company said. Well I’m convinced we have finally found the glass of all glassware, their company has stated it, we need no other proof. Now what they aren’t telling you is that there are many different types of beer that all require a different glass.
Not one glass can be the tell-all of beerdrinking apperati and there are many sources that will tell you this (such as here). I could begin to explain but it would take too long to type, and someone has already done it so let's honor their work and spread their good word. This is from the BeerAdvocate, they are, a locally based foundation intended to educate and promote beer connoisseurs. They recently hosted an event that I attended, the Boston Extreme Beerfest. This was designed to give the normal man a chance to sample several brewery’s top brews.
Now I personally do not find the aesthetic of this current glass to be at all attractive, but to each their own, and I’m sure that someone will enjoy it. And while I do enjoy Sam Adams beer selection I find them to be a bit presumptuous to take such actions like this. I try to not be too pushy with my opinions, and am not always so opinionated, but this is my little space to say what happens to go through my mind. You may like it, you may not, but who cares, I pay to have my thoughts
out here.
